A valley full of culture

Since prehistoric times, the Resia Pass has served as an important link between the territories north and south of the Alps. Characterized by fertile soils and medieval culture and interspersed with Romanesque churches and Rhaetian place names, Val Venosta truly has a thousand-year history.

Our tips for experiences on the border with three countries:

  • In the artificial lake of Resia, near Curon, you can find the legendary submerged bell tower, now a symbol of Val Venosta.
  • The Monastery of St. John in Müstair in Val Monastero (Switzerland) is located about 1 km from the Italian border and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Naudersberg Castle in the Tiroler Oberland (Austria) can still be visited as it was in the Middle Ages.
